GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) is radar based technology that transmits and receives pulses of electromagnetic energy through a surface, such as the ground or concrete. When our state of the art machinery is moved along the surface an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) penetrates the surface and is then reflected back off any object within the slab and our technicians are then able to determine whether the area is safe for drilling, cutting, coring etc.

Our technicians are able to detect the following objects in slabs up to 300mm thick:

Post tension
Rebar
Utilities
Copper & aluminium
Steel reinforcing mesh
Voids within the concrete
Plastic
Electrical conduits

It is a non destructive process and the emissions present no health hazards to other worker on site.
